We now work with new select grade timber jarrah, oak and blackwood to create contempory and modern furniture pieces.
Jarrah trees grow on the iron and aluminium rich plains of the south west corner of Western Australia from in ranges east of Perth down to Albany. If is a unique Australian hardwood renowned for its versatility, durability and strength, making it an ideal timber for custom manufactured furniture.
Jarrah's decorative qualities make it prized for use in high quality furniture and the timbers reflect the hues of the Western Australian landscape and are renowned for their rich red colours that deepen over time.
Blackwood is one of Australia's native ornamental timber species. It is much sought after by the furniture manufacturing and craft industries because of its wood properties, including colour. Blackwwod grows to 6-35m in heights, and occurs naturally throughout the eastern seaboard as far north as southern Queensland in areas with an annual rainfall of greater than 600mm. Small populations also occur further north. Its best development in terms of superior growth and form, is found in cool temperature environments with deep soils, especially in tall forests in Tasmania and Victoria.
Warm, dense and resilient, Tasmanian Oak is the preferred hardwood for a wide range of applications. It works extremely well and produces an excellent finish. It can be used in all forms of construction as panelling and flooring, and can be glue laminated to cover long spans. It is a popular furniture timber, eucalypt fibre is sought after for reconstituted board and the production of high quality paper.
Tasmanian Oak is light in colour, varying from straw to reddish brown with intermediate shades of cream to pink. It is recognised for its excellent staining qualities, which allow ready matching with other timbers, finishes or furnishings.
